Following the recent acquisition of OilCamp by RigNet Inc, OilCamp’s UK Division is set to relocate to join the RigNet team at their offices in Aberdeen.
OilCamp UK Ltd will relocate to RigNet’s UK premises at Exploration Drive, Bridge of Don on the 31st of March. The office move is part of an ongoing programme to integrate the operations of both businesses, with the specific aim of providing a more streamlined approach when delivering joint services. The two companies already work closely together on a number of projects that utilise both sets of service offerings, and it is anticipated that the number of these joint projects will rise as the merger gets fully underway in 2007.
OilCamp’s focus is to manage and develop the North Sea communications network, SOIL, a secure and reliable extranet for the Oil and Gas Industry which combines traditional networking capabilities with innovative tools for collaboration, such as video conferencing. RigNet, Inc. a leading provider of IP-based voice, data and video for the global offshore oil and gas industry, acquired OilCamp in September last year with plans to integrate SOIL into their global network. This merger of services will allow oil and gas customers to easily connect onshore and offshore throughout the world, providing a complete end-to-end network solution.
News of the relocation follows a year of reported growth for both RigNet and OilCamp. The number of Oil and Gas companies registered to OilCamp’s SOIL Network reached the 200 mark at the end of 2006, and RigNet Inc were ranked as the 23rd fastest-growing technology company in North America on the prestigious Deloitte 2006 Technology Fast 50.
Audrey Murray, Sales Manager for OilCamp UK says “Our move to join the RigNet team in Aberdeen will enable us to offer a much more integrated service to our clients as we continue to move the business forward onto the next level. RigNet’s offshore network knowledge and experience, combined with their global presence, is an ideal fit for OilCamp’s onshore networking and collaboration services. The merger of the two companies will create a new force in the communications sector of the Oil and Gas industry, and this move in the UK will help to us to strengthen our service offering as we move forward with our plans for integration and further expansion in 2007”
Operations Manager for RigNet Europe & Africa, Alan Walker, commented “We are delighted to welcome OilCamp into our offices in Aberdeen. This is an important first step in our goal for a combined business that enhances our individual capabilities and resources. OilCamp’s services and areas of expertise are complementary to our existing business, and will enable us to provide a superior service offering to all our clients”
